The Final Countdown

Well, today is the last week that we will be in the apartment. We will be closing on the house on Friday and obtaining the keys. We will begin moving our stuff from the apartment into the house over the weekend and the movers will be coming with the rest of our things on Monday. It is like the week before Christmas when you are about 8 years old.

I have been working on a list of to do’s when we get in the house in order to help pass the time. I have also be dreaming about where I will be putting all of my kitchen stuff. Is it a bit obsessive of me to try to diagram where my pots and pans will go?

Home Stretch

Since I have not really posted anything in a long while about the house building, I thought that I would give you an update. Things have been moving at a rapid pace. I am shocked and surprised at how quickly time has passed and how much they have been able to do in such a relatively short period of time. The house will be completely done in two weeks! We have walls, appliances, carpet, the whole nine yards. Can you believe it?

I am already dreaming about decorating ideas and where I am going to put my lovely, much missed, cookware. I am going to spend days deciding where to put things, and I will enjoy every second of it.

The house is unbelievable, so much more than what I visualized. I am so blessed to be able to have this house and make it my home. The best part is that we will finally have enough room to have family and friends stay. No more sharing one bathroom, or people sleeping on couches!! Who will be the first to visit? I can’t wait!

I am alive . .

Apologies for not posting in a while. Had a REALLY awful cold and it has set me back. I have just been getting back into the the swing of things the past few days. Still trying to get out of the resulting funk and get back into a normal routine. Malaise is a b*tch.

SOLD!!

Thank you, God. We have finally sold the house in Columbus. Can you believe it?!! Words cannot express how happy I am that this is finally over. We can not officially move on with our lives here in Madison. Speaking of moving, geez this is going to be hectic. Shawn and I are having to fly out to CMH this weekend to meet with the movers on Monday and Tuesday, then drive back here on Wednesday with the remainder of our stuff that can’t go into storage. I am happy to get the rest of my clothes and shoes and things. Also greatly looking forward to seeing our friends again. It has been quite a while. I know that Shawn is looking forward to it as well. He hasn’t been there since October!

This is going to be hard as well. I have a feeling that it is finally going to hit me that we are no longer living in Columbus, the place that I have called home for the past 13 years. I hope that I don’t get too sappy.

Hectic . . . geez, I just realized that we are basically going to be going from CMH back here and then turning around again to go to Las Vegas for JT and Tara’s wedding. Oh lord, this is going to be nuts. Please be patient if I do not post again soon.

Happy Birthday, Dad.

Just wanted to say happy birthday to dad. As you can see, he is the coolest dad in town. Thank you for all of you have given to me: my great sense of direction, good memory, ability to fix things, my hair, and of course being able to not take myself too seriously. You are a “bad man” for sure. Love you!

Happy Birthday, Walter.

Ok, I know that it is a bit silly to celebrate a dog’s birthday, so just humor me, ok?

The picture is from the first day that Shawn and I brought him home. He was 8 weeks old at the time. I can’t believe what a moose he has grown into in just a year! Happy Birthday, my fuzzy little guy.

Happy St. Valentine’s Day

Ok, I will not be mushy, sappy, or gross. *** How about I just talk about the REAL reason why I love this day. It is the candy, baby! I can’t get enough of these conversation hearts. I know, some people think that they are chalky, disgusting little beasts tasting like dried up Pepto, but I can never get enough. Forget the chocolate, just throw a bag of these at me and I will be your sweetheart, no questions asked.

***Ok, I can’t help it. Happy Valentines Day to my wonderful husband. I love you more than all of the candy hearts in the world.
